Chapter Sixteen

Sabine kommt eine Stunde zu spät, John gibt ihr einen Kuß und sie verbringen einen wunderbaren Abend.

Sabine arrives at last, an hour late! The Volkswagen Beetle she got a lift in, had broken down. Overjoyed, John, who had been worried sick, gives her a kiss. They spend a wonderful evening together. However the time to say 'good-bye' has come and sad though they are, they resolve definitely to stay in touch. Next morning there is a phonecall from John telling Sabine about a crash on their way home to Frankfurt. Thankfully nobody was hurt.
